What are GR-1® and RC-14®?
They are specific, named strains of Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus reuteri that have been studied for women's urogenital health. A strain designation identifies the exact organism used in that research.
Why 1 billion CFU when some probiotics list much higher counts?
CFU count only tells you how many organisms are in the capsule, not which ones. The research on GR-1® and RC-14® was done at this level, so the dose matches the studies. A higher count of an unnamed strain is a different product, not a stronger version of this one.
How is this different from a general probiotic?
Broad-spectrum probiotics such as Complete Probiotic support the whole digestive tract with many species. Pro-Flora is targeted to the female urogenital tract. The two can be used together.
